K.I.S.S: Because I am A Girl
Have you ever heard the song “Because I am a Girl” by K.I.S.S? It was a huge hit in 2002, which can be attributed to its melodramatic video of the sacrifice one can make for love. This video spread like wildfire over the internet, becoming a very popular music video. This helped to launch the career of Kiss by sending the song to the top of the charts, and an album quickly followed.
This song became popular because of its movie clip even though it’s far from the meaning of the song. It is a korean movie clip, very famous in asia for its realisation and its nice story. The movie lasts 8mn, with a background music from Kiss - Because I'm a girl, recorded by J-entercom, a Korean record company. The clip was also got popular, that many versions of the song were produced, in many languages, as english, mandarin, cantonese, and even tagalog!
The first time I heard this song while watching the clip, it’s just like crumpling my heart. It touches my heart soul. It shows how great love did everything for his love one. I think, many will be inspired once they here it and watch the clip. I admitted that I cried when I have watched it.
We have different interpretation and likes in terms of music, the way we appreciate it.
Starry, Starry Night Vincent....
Vincent is one of my all time favorite songs. The song "Vincent" is a tribute of Don Mclean to the world's most prolific painter, Vincent van Gogh. His life, his soul, everything was expressed through his art. Many artists choose to do what they do to express things when words cannot suffice. Van Gogh did not know how everything does express to other people in words, so he used his paints. Most of the lyrics are actually titles “the starry night"or description of Vincent's paintings. This song represents Vincent’s life.
I was incredibly enchanted by the song until I heard it again one rainy afternoon. I couldn't believe that I finally found what the song was. It literally has been years. I am so thrilled that I finally know what this song is! It's so beautiful, and I can't wait to listen to it over and over again! When I listen to it, it makes me really think of Vincent as a great artist with brilliant mind and a tortured soul who wants to be loved and understood.
This song was trying to explain what life is and how we should see it. It can really make a person think. Some say Vincent Van Gogh was insane, but Don McLean presented us with his opinion, which is, above all, beautiful. I feel both peace and passion when hear this song.
The Unbreakable Westlife...
Another Guinness Book of Records is the Westlife. They became the first ever British group to have 5 consecutive No.1s in the UK chart, so they broke this record in the UK music history and they even have a Guinness Record for this. They became popular from 1998 to present.
Westlife is an Irish pop group formed on 3 July 1998. The group's original lineup comprised Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Brian McFadden departed from the band in 2004. The group is the only act in British or Irish history to have their first seven singles go straight to Number 1, and they have gone on to sell over 44 million records worldwide which includes their studio, single, video, and compilation albums. Despite the group's worldwide success, they've only had one U.S. hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts: "Swear It Again", which made it to #20 in 2000.
Many girls got crazy with this boy band, as I remember my first year high school classmate who truly loves Shane and the other made their song “My Love” as their theme song. They serve also an inspiration for me, especially their songs. If you appreciate their music, you’ll find out what I’m saying and what I really feel. Its just like, every lyric of their songs related to what’s happening into your life. You can relate with their music. They give the best music ever.
Utada Hikaru: World Record
Another star I truly admire is Utada Hikaru. She is a Japanese-American J-Pop singer, song writer, arranger, and producer, one of Japan's most successful music artists ever. She was in the Guinness Book of World Records who has sold almost 38 million singles and albums in Japan alone. Wew! She’s great.
Her name Hikaru means “shining”. She also known as Hikki, Cubic U, and Utada. She was born on January 19, 1983, in the city of Manhattan, New York, United States.
One of her song I really love is the, “First Love”. It is nice to hear even though some of its lyrics are written in Japanese.
Many say, do what you really love and you’ll be successful. I think, she really loves music that is why until now, her shine never get pale. She’s always on the top, not only on the hit charts but in the heart of the fans who love her and who inspired by her songs.
Her success continued, though nobody can predict what will happen in the future. Her name proves itself as she shines on stage. I was so curious how she became that successful in her career because, as far as I know nobody could do that yet in just one snap like she does. She’s truly amazing. I know, most of her fellow-citizens in Japan are so very proud of her to what she had reached and contributed not only to the Japan music industry but in the whole world.

AIR SUPPLY, Now and Forever...
Who doesn’t know the songs like Lost in Love, All Out of Love, Now and Forever, Making Love Out of Nothing At All and many more. All of these are popularized by the Air Supply, a duo of pop musicians, consisting of English guitarist/vocalist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, who had a succession of soft-rock ballad hits in many territories through the late 1970s and early 1980s. Other members are Jed Moss, Jonni Lightfoot & Mike Zerbe.
Air Supply began when Graham Russell met Russell Hitchcock, while they were cast members of the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Australian production of the stage musical "Jesus Christ Superstar", in April or May of 1975. Then, in 1976, the stage production came to it's end; and taking on a name that came to Graham in a dream, "Air Supply", they were already in the midst of releasing a single.
Hmmm…I’m not yet been born when they got popular. It was only last 2009 when I rediscover the fantastical music of Air Supply. I heard their songs, Making Love Out of Nothing at All and All Out Love. Since then, I have been looking for their songs and listening to it everyday. Their songs are so soft, calming, relaxing and filled with deep emotions. All of their songs send chills to my bone and soothes me. I can’t deny the irresistible melodies. Though, some are saying that their songs are for oldies, I don’t care because it’s not the time that matters but the feeling when you hear their songs. The lyrics are so wonderful; it really comes from the heart of the composer and the singers when it sings. The Air supply music was great.
I was also amazed with their team-up. They are still stronger partners/duo not like other bands, some vocalist pursuing in a solo career. They become so popular in the whole world, but they remain humble. Even though there’s a lot of latest music today, still, Air Supply would be my number one perfect duo singers ever. Nothing else can compare.”
